As the term obviously suggests, a 30 day diet plan signifies a specific pattern of diet that you decide to follow for a period of 30 days. This is a rather general term and does not say anything in detail or more about the actual plan. Based upon what you have planned to achieve by following such a dietary plan for 30 days, there are many different kinds of dietary plans that could be designated under this category.

Various Uses of a 30 Day Diet Plan

The uses of adopting such a diet plan for a month, could vary from person to person. A 30 day diet plan is often the most effective way to lose weight for many folks. But it is fairly evident that such a plan is used more often by those who are interested in quick weight loss, and it is a well-known fact that quick weight loss is not always a healthy choice.

There are a large number of people who use a 30 day plan to get their dietary habits streamlined. Then there are others who use it to enhance their current fitness levels. These are the folks who have recently gained just a couple of extra pounds, most probably due to getting lax on their regular healthy diet and exercise schedule.

Some also use a monthly diet plan on a trial basis and if the results are satisfactory, then they may decide to continue on that particular plan for an additional length of time. This is often the method adopted by people who are continuously experimenting with the latest diet plans and are yet to find a suitable plan that they could stick to.

Then there are certain diet plans that are specifically designed to be used only for a 30 day period like for example a detox diet plan or a fasting diet plan or juice diet plan etc.

The amount of weight loss that can be expected with such a short term diet plan is dependent upon the kind of plan being used. If it is used as a crash diet then there could be extreme weight loss, especially if it involves fasting, severe calorie restriction, detoxification, and total restriction of solids, carbs or cooked food.

The weight loss effects are not going to be stable or permanent if a 30 day diet plan is used as a crash diet or as a recourse to rapid and extreme weight loss. It is quite obvious that the effects will stay only as long as the diet plan is being followed and almost all of the lost weight (sometimes even more) is regained within a fortnight to a month, provided the person fully reverts back to the diet and lifestyle that was being followed before the 30 day diet plan.

On the contrary if the diet plan was used as a means to streamline the current dietary habits, then though the overall amount of weight that is lost may vary from small to moderate, yet these effects could be long lasting if followed up with a better and healthier lifestyle.

For instance a detox plan for 30 days can be utilized to the best advantage by following it up with a healthy, balanced diet and regular exercise. It is also equally important to stay away from adding unwanted toxins to the body via smoking tobacco, drinking alcohol, caffeinated beverages, carbonated drinks and drug abuse.
